I can tell you what myself the Mrs. and some buddies either do use or have used(we all have multiple rifles).
16" Cold hammer forged mid length gas Daniel Defense V7 Lightweight (old modular float fore end) with a Magpul CTR stock, Magpul MOE plus(rubberized) grip, PWS FSC556 comp, stock trigger. Weaver 1-5 tactical FFP scope in an Aero Precision lightweight mount, Magpul gen2 MBUS irons. Blue Force Gear Vickers padded sling.
16" Cold hammer forged mid length Daniel Defense M4 V11 Lightweight MLOK FF hand guard. Same bits as the one above just DD's new MLOK handguard.
16" Cold hammer forged mid length gas Bravo Company lightweight upper with fixed front sight. Magpul drop in hand guard, Magpul MOE K2 plus grip(reduced angle and rubberized) Magpul STR stock, PWS FSC556 comp, ALG defence ACT trigger(stock weight just smooth and consistent, single stage) Trijicon TA33 ACOG with horseshoe/dot reticle, Magpul MBUS pro rear sight, BFG Vickers padded sling.
Same gun as above just with a 14.5"Cold hammer forged mid length government contour barrel.
12.5" "Kino" build Bravo Company upper with government contour and fixed FSB. Same bits as the 16" and 14.5".
10.5" Spikes gun, Midwest Industries free float hand guard, Aimpoint T1, Troy BUIS, Magpul CTR stock, Ergo grip, Geissle trigger(SSE) BFG Vickers sling
16" Spikes gun with Midwest industries free float hand guard, Primary Arms 1-6 FFP optic in an ADM QD mount, Troy BUIS, BFG Vickers sling, ERGO pistol grip, Geissle trigger (SSE), CTR stock(I think, it's a buddies gun).
Pistols
Glock 19's and 17's. Some full stock with the exception of Trijicon HD sights in both yellow/green front and orange front. Some guns have big dot sights. Some guns have a 20lb recoil spring as opposed to the stock 17lb or 18lb springs. This also forces the use of an aftermarket guide rod which is stainless or tungsten. All triggers are stock 5.5lbs. No grip reductions or stippling.
SIG P226 E2 with reduced grip circumference and the SRT(short reset trigger) and factory three dot night sights.
Shotguns
Beretta 1301 tactical with 18.5" cold hammer forged barrel and ghost ring sights(not my fav but they do just fine), plus two extension with plug to allow for 6 rounds of 2.75" but not 6 rounds of 3". velcro shell card on the receiver and the stock. standard stock no pistol grip, sling mounts.
Mossberg 500 20" barrel 7+1 capacity. Magpul Shotgun stock(truly amazing!), fibre optic bead sight, velcro shell card on receiver and stock, no pistol grip, sling mounts.
Some other odd guns and gear used
VZ 858 bone stock with a sling.
Smith and Wesson model 10 from 1954, fixed blade steel sight and little blueing left.
Winchester defender 1300 with side folder
Remington 870's in all lengths and all stock styles
Fabarm 14"
SKS bone stock
Glock 26 stock with the exception of the barrel.

I tried calling the manufacturers of my guns to see if they used cold hammers when forging the barrels.
I received a wide variety of responses from laughter, to "our hammers are room temperature at best" to "Thor's hammer runs warm with the blood of his enemies"...whatever than means.
Now I'm second guessing the accuracy of my rifles.
This sport is getting complicated.

Cold hammer forging means they beat the barrel into shape(generally speaking) when the steel is "cold" as in it is not hot forged or hot rolled like other steel products. If your manufacturers couldn't figure out what you meant when you asked the question then their barrels are not cold hammer forged. As far as accuracy is concerned the jury is still out as to whether or not it really makes a difference. CHF barrels are more consistent and stronger than broach cut barrels and offer a greater life... If you fire a lot of full auto.

What are you guys doing to train over the winter months?
My last couple range trips have been a bust. Got rained out on one. Last one I had about 45 minutes to shoot because of road conditions, lack of daylight, and a lama that has taken a liking to me and tries to watch me shoot from behind my targets.
I bought a 9mm Laserlyte laser training cartridge online for indoor play (ahem...training). It activates for a split second when the "primer" is hit. I think it will be very useful for dry fire practice and gets good reviews.

At my club we keep at it all year round! Our philosophy is that our guns and gear should work in all kinds of weather. We've shot in the toughest conditions this part of the province can throw at us from the hottest and muggiest of summer days to the bitterest cold and blowing winter ones.
We don't have a lama anymore though (CFO demands all lamas be shrouded in Ontario) so I can't say for sure if one staring at us would make us cut our shooting short. I doubt it.
Indoor handgun, namely IPSC / action shooting and PPC.

I kinda like shooting in the rain....to a point. Downpour with no shelter is not fun. Neither is drying and cleaning all my gear afterwards. The snow was cool to shoot in too, but our range rules specify that the resident lama is not an approved target. Moved all my gear and setup targets again down a couple bays to avoid the lama and he follows me to eat some grass behind my target stands wtf? Last shot at 4pm today?? Damnit, winter...you suck.
