I didn't realize there were any sanctioned IPSC or USPSA 3-gun matches in alberta. It would be interesting to attend one.

...DONT ANYONE DARE SUGGEST NORC!! Buy the time you start replacing the hand guard, trigger, sights, comp, etc. you could have just bought something closer to the configuration you were looking for...

Different strokes for different folks, amigo... Daniel Defense makes great rifles, but a $530 14.5" Norinco from Marstar will get a new 3-Gunner a functional unit that leaves a lot of cash left over for practice ammo, match fees, and travel costs.

Upgrading is personal choice, and that's not any different from most ARs under 2k which come with an A2 flash hider, iron sights (if any), and a grimy trigger. There are many reasons why the OP might not want a Norinco, but value and function is certainly not one of them.
