Hi guys and gals

We had the misfortune of a small secluded range (featured in our videos too) that recently closed down. In our part of Alberta your choices are mostly Fish and Game type ranges that you can either shoot rifle or pistol from the bench or indoor ranges that does not lean towards 3 gun / IPSC type practice. So I was wondering, where and how often do you practice? How do you get past these obstacles?

Desperation has me even considering talking to a farmer that I know to try and get a patch of land and do a "Home CFO approved Range".

You may be able to have your "fish & game" type ranges approved for other uses than/fixed firing line shooting...
My "Rod & Gun Club" range is "approved" for pretty much all action shooting. We have six outdoor ranges only two of which are designed with a "fixed" firing line.
The indoor range is your traditional type with ports, but... if arranged ahead of time practices and matches can be shot downrange.

That would be ideal! I will have to talk to the one I belong to!

I'm pretty sure the Rocky Mtn House Gun Club has a 3 gun practice bay. Check out their website to confirm.

Well, I'm not saying this is what you should do, but more than a few guys have NR rifles such as XCR, ACR, or formerly Swiss Arms so that they can practice off range with their rifle and shotgun at least.

CHAS 3-Gun out of Edmonton has Skills and Drills once a months on top of matches to help out with that. We post up the info here in the Action Shooting forum as well as on our site. www.chas3gun.com.

Website should be updated soon, just need to get my login credentials back...long story.

If you are in Red Deer, why not try Olds on. It has been a couple of years since the last bit of nonsense, so maybe it has died down?
