Had a German hunter shoot a 3 legged Grizz when I worked as a guide, there were two bears too chose from and he wanted the smaller bear with 3 legs. I will try to find the pics and post. Was quite interesting after the kill as the second bear would not leave and we were finally forced to skin the bear while the other paced around us inside 50 yards. This was after trying to chase the second bear off for well over an hour on our horses and many charges in return from the bear. Was one of my more interesting days of hunting.

Crazyy, its so werid to see it walk like that, sad tho.....must have lost its leg to a trap?
I'd guess it's more likely it was shot off by a rifle or maybe an unattended foot snare rather than a trap?Snare or trap,either way it must've been a very small bear at the time to catch it so high,and not a very responsible trapper to leave it long enuf for that to happen.More than likely a bad rifle wound would be my guess,and again,a small bear at the time to blow it clean off or nearly so until it fell off.
