Its too bad the price is blanked out - I wonder what Lever paid for them in '63 compared to what they are worth today!

Back then, LE were all under $100 retail. No GST too. You can do the math.

Yup, between Granville and Howe on Dunsmuir except McD is long gone as well. You won't recognize the place now if you come back to Vancity for a visit.

Lever was located on Dunsmuir until the early 80's when it moved 1/2 a block down to Howe. It remained there till the late 90's, then moved to its current location on Burrard. There were some amazing toys that went through that store over the years. Its once a year after X'mas sales on guns was legendary.

I guess it's just as well, that McDonald's was a total dump! Same with the Burger King further down Granville.

What did they put in it's place?

I never knew Lever Arms even existed until about 1993 when I drove past it in a Brinks truck. I never set foot into it until 1994 when I moved to Vancouver for a year. I'm kicking myself now that I never knew about it when I lived in Vancouver during the Winter between '88 and '89.

Back then I was spending my time and money at Long & McQuade's or MEC. We had a few good gun stores in Kelowna back then (Rutland Sports and Bear Creek) and there were a few up in Prince George I used to frequent when I was there, but I can't recall ever even seeing one during my Vancouver stint. I would have liked to have checked out Gold'N'Guns back then too.

I heard there was a pretty good store called Castle Armoury on the North Shore as well.

Yeah, Castle Armoury, was that Tom Bongalis's store?
I bought a TRW M14 and an SKS from him...way back when...both long gone unfortunately.
