3 n 38

I acquired a pound of vihtavuori 3 n 38 powder. Have had it for 2-3 yrs and have not found anything I can use it for.
I load for .38sp .357mag .45auto and 9mm. Also for 6 different rifles and calibres. So far I have not found anything to load with this powder. Any suggestions

also .45 c0lt and .44colt

Use the Blue Dot data and work up as usual.

He was not looking for Vht data. He was complaining that he could not find data for 3N38. My suggestion was a solution.

And if you look at the data at their site you will find the info.

9mm with the Hornady 147gr XTP is all it's good for, listed in the original post.

If a person is using 124gr bullets in a 9mm, would they run into case capacity issues?

I think the website explains the problem he shared with us. No data for his powder. I offered a solution. There are Blue Dot loads for all those calibres.

I think if you commented that 3N38 has a similar burn rate to Blue Dot - they'd understand where you were going with your helpful reply.

OP, I use the stuff for 9mm major loads; it's a compressed load under a 124gr bullet that runs out my 4.5" barrel at 1400fps and has a ton of gas to make the compensator work - add that to the equation.
