12 ounce vs. 9 ounce.

Am I really going to feel a difference in weight on the front end?

Its regarding a free floating rail.

12 inch vs. 9 inch on my NEA 15.

I have the 12 inch long one, but it just seems like to much trouble to have it swapped for the 9 inch rail section.

Advice.

Ultimately it depends what it's use will be. For a range queen it won't matter, competition or perhaps PD the weight might be marginally noticeable. But 3 oz's shouldn't be overwhelming.

I'd also take into account how you grip the rail. A heavier one will swing a bit different depending on where your forward hand holds the weapon.

Do 3 pushups before you shoot it.
I wouldn't worry about it unless you were carrying 100lbs and trying to cut weight anywhere you could. I'm just some guy though.

3 ounces won't matter by itself.

It has a funny tendancy of adding up fast after that though...

The saying "The straw that broke the camels back" comes to mind.
