Question for you guys, like the title says is it ok to do? I know the magazine is big enough, I know the gun will chamber them, but is it ok to shoot 3 inch shells out of a 15 inch dominion arms grizzly mag?

Thanks again for all your help guys!

It is a 3 inch gun. Why wouldn't it be? The Grizzlies are tough 870 clones and the 870 is a great design. You are fine, have at it

i think he was jsut wodnering becuase its a short barrel....

i don't think you will notice any difference;) except maybe a bit more recoil!:p

thanks for the response guys! I was just wondering because the manual only specifies 2 2/3 shells, so i was a bit confused.

thanks again guys

It has issues feeding 3" out of the magazine. The gun is chambered for 3" though. To get 3" to feed one must do a bit of polishing and tweaking. There is a thread somewhere in here that details how to do it.

I was actually wondering the same thing. Is it true that these shotguns are fatter and heavier than it's Remington predecessor?

Are any parts interchangable at all?

I was going to get a grizzly, but since I can't use 870 internals I don't know where I would find spare parts if I need them.

there was a thread around a few days ago where manbearpig outlined some of the interchangable parts.

I was wondering this as well with my 18.5 grizz. barrel says 2 3/4 but the mag fits those wonderful 3'' OOO buck i have hidden in my ammo storage so nicely.

do not put 3 inch shells in it if the barrel says 2 3/4:eek:

my non mag grizz is stamped 2 3/4" and 3" and I have fired both. My grizz-mag is only stamped 2 3/4" it has only fired 2 3/4" BUT
I am 100% certain that Chris at CanAm has confirmed that all grizz barred are chambered for 3"

Barrels are stamped 2 3/4. I had mine measured by a gunsmith and they have been opened up to accept 3 inch at factory. No incidents with mine.

Yeah as stated by CanAM the mag feed's were only marked 2 3/4" because of the feeding issues with 3".

This thread shows how I chamfered the chamber on mine to feed 3"ers in mine with no issues, and increasing the mag cap to 6

Which thread are you referring to? I would love to know how to do both. Any magazine problems since the increase in capacity?

3' feeding ok!

Just a little FYI, I fed 3' inch no. 6, 00 buck, and some rifled slug through the gun no prob guys! I'm not sure what the feeding issue is but I haven't experienced it.

I'm not sure what the feeding issue is but I haven't experienced it.

The longer shells get jammed up in the feeding path, at least I have that problem. They sort of get wedged sideways. Sometimes you kind of have to pump it twice to force the round into the chamber. I have monkeyed with it, but haven't gotten reliable results so far.
