3 Turkeys with one shot video

I could have taken the same shot last season but waited till one broke off from the rest. Good Jake and I wasn't being fussy as it was near the end of the hunt. I prefer to hunt for the big Tom rather than jakes but when push come to shove you take what you can get.

Absolutely... I have finished off many spring hunting seasons with jakes....

there are areas in the States where you can take more than one bird a day and judging but the birds in the video I think they are Merriams.

Great, what areas? I thought there may be areas where it would be legal, but was unable to find any. I looked up Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas and a few others.

These guys are for sure blessed with lots of turkeys or dont really care about extending their season or like was said in a previous post are poachers. Not everyone that picks up a gun and shoots an animal is necessarily a hunter. I have nothing against that shot(obviously intentional)but seems kinda boring to me but to each their own.

I've taken some big jakes near the end of the season also. Turkey hunting is my favorite hunt I would say. Just me myself and I and a beautiful Spring morning alone.

I love "putting a gobbler to bed" at night almost as much as I like the hunt itself.... nothing beats roosting and marking a big bird then having a few brew and a nice meal in camp thinking about the morning hunt......

except there is a reason why we have a one bird per shooter per day rule. Its a conservation thing. The numbers seem the same but realistically if it was allowed to "party shoot" in this manner then the kill would be much higher. Its easy enough to keep shooting when they come in but its a diffrent game to call in legal turkeys three times if that makes any sense. I've personnally passed on a double of turkeys because of this reason. If everybody was flock shooting jakes we'd have much more of a problem. In my case the extra tag was only 300 yards away, but i passed , and never did kill one of those birds because they wouldn't seperate. I dont regret it at all.

If its legal do what you want, but i really don't even think this is legal.

Well lets just call it even for the 2 tags I paid for but I never got to fill last season :)

I like beards, spurs are hard to judge on the hoof. The longest beard was a little over 14" (strands)the spurs were barely a inch.Others have shorter beards and longer spurs.Quit collecting spurs but I still like beards!

I like spurs... They look cool on a leather lanyard hanging off your boxcall... :) ... Looking to get a real big tom and have a full mount... But to me it's a waste... The meat is awesome... Especially after visiting the smoker...

That was a hell of a shot, got 2 once waiting the heads to cross and for those ... we were 2 hunters and that one shot did fill both tags in Mooers NY... JP.
