3 weeks to the Ontario gun season for deer

Lots of deer up this way, but our tags will likely be gone before the rifle season... dropped a buck tonight, heading back out in the morning.

Bow season: Bear Archery Wild with 100gr Wac'Em broadheads
Controlled Hunt: Remington M31 12 gauge with 2-3/4" Federal Vital-Shok 1 ounce Tru-ball slugs
Rifle: Santa Barbara M1000 7x57 with 140 gr Remington Core-Lokt

Winchester 88 in 308 topped with a Bushnell Elite. stopped using corn and apples - to many bears, raccoons and turkeys but deer coming to Sweetlix blocks ..a couple 8s,6 ptr and 3 spikes and a couple does and fawns..at least 6 bears

I am always down for a bear. If they want to come out for a snack. Sounds like you have quite a lot of bears in your area.

Getting ready and excited for the rifle hunt and thinking if this crazy warm weather continues I'll need to pack may camo shorts and short sleeve blaze orange T-shirts.

If we don't fill all of our tags during the bow season, I will be carrying a Ruger M77 .358 Carbine and an M77-RS 7X64 Brenneke.

I'll be going up to my camp outside of smiths falls, but I'll miss the first two days of the season. From my stand I'll be shooting my Marlin 30-30 with Speer Hotcor handloads. I bring my heavy barrel 308 to reach out in the fields, usually a day or two we spend pushing towards an open field that can be as far as 275yrds. Mossberg with 00Buck is in the truck in case I get stuck "dogging" the scrub cedars.

Wish I was up there to check my game cam, but having moved from Ottawa to Windsor means I don't get to camp much before season. Nothing like 800km to camp and another 800km back to limit my access!!
