I reload mine, so I am totally biased when it comes to the store bought stuff. My rifle really preforms well with the Nosler 165 gr partitions - again - handloaded.
Lmao im keeping all my brass ;-)

Have used Federal blue for years. Its not what you like, its what your gun likes.Good to reload, instead of buying brass.Works for me.
I should search ..but im tired and wish to know.
Dad alwase said sight 25yards dead on is also dead on at 200 yards with 180 grain.
now i know this is aprox...and theres a lot more info you need.
but i fired a couple at 445 yards with my rifle and my boys identical rifle
both came in about 2 feet low and 10-12 inches right.
2 diffrent days same result with mine..so it aint windage.
reason for asking is ..we got cow elk draws and sometimes its a long shot...
I guess the question is ..is 24 low sounding right for federal blue box 180s ?
It should be dead on at 200 yards.
Sighted with this ammo as well
Omg my mosin with milsurp was impressive at that range lol

And why would you use 180 gr cup and core bullet for long range Elk hunting?
Why not 150 gr Vortex with Barnes TTSX bullet? Or Hornady Superformance 150 gr GMX.
Old rules do not apply to monolithic bullets.
180 gr will loose to 150 gr as starts slower and drops more and carries less energy at 500y.
From 30-06 you need 150 gr at minimum 3000 ft/sec set 3" high at 100 y for about same at 200 , low -2.55 at 300 and low -14 at 400, -33 at500.
So you don't worry about holding over or anything up to 325 -4.84 low.
And for above trajectory 25 y should be 0 or right on.
Monolithic bullets penetrate deepest and retain almost100% weight.
Expensive, really? Depends what you driving but you can't drive very far for price of 40 -50 $those days.
Came back from Elk camp with 2 Elk this year we fired 2 Barnes TTSX bullets to get them.
