If you are only using the die to size only the neck so that it is acting like a neck bushing only and not bumping the shoulder at all then maybe, otherwise . . . did you check out the SAAMI dimensions for shoulder size, shoulder angle, etc. Since you posted this here, you obviously have the internet so looking up such info shouldn't pose a problem. While it might seem to work, as a one-off process these cases should fail fairly rapidly due to the differences and flexure they will undergo each time. Since both cartridges space off the shoulder, these differences also mean that the cartridge is not being headspaced properly. On the other hand, it is your rifle and the resulting consequences are all yours.

Since you will have to full length resize these cases after around 3 firings, why not get the proper dies.

At the Whidden custom die website they tell you they get the most concentric cases with non-bushing full length dies, and Whidden doesn't make neck sizing dies. (ask yourself why)

Meaning a full length die holds and supports the case body and neck in perfect alignment. And a neck sizing die does not hold and align the case body with the case neck. (it doesn't size the case body)

Bottom line, the vast majority of competitive shooters are full length resizing their cases. Now ask yourself why your .303 cases have rub marks on their base.

When you full length resize with .001 to .002 shoulder bump the cartridge when chambered has .001 to .002 head clearance.

You can partial neck size your 30-06 using a full length die by only sizing 1/2 to 3/4 of the neck and give more support to the case body than a .308 die.

NOTE, the only cases I neck size are for my .303 British Enfiled rifles, "BUT" I use a .303 British case forming die to bump the shoulders back. The case forming die is larger in diameter and does not touch or size the case body or neck of the case and still will bump the shoulder back.

If you feel adventurous you could shoot .308 Winchester ammunition in your 30-06 and just forget the case necks. (just joking do not do this)

I also sell kits to make Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) magnum Roo lights for a modest fee. ;) (not to be confused with the Canadian kit that uses duct tape) :stirthepot2:

Yeh mate 35 degree angle and a 40 degree angle shoulder but i shouldnt be touching those at all, i stop just before the Degrees begin :D

yeah if i get 3 firings ill be happy, i have 170 once fired Sellier Bellot brass getting posted to me, ill save those and use these others for some remaining 30 cal accubonds i have!

Yeah, it works. Its really not a heck of a lot different than using a universal neck sizing die. Sometimes you just want to shoot the gun.

ha ha You;ve Nailed it!! :)
more i researched, threads popped up elsewhere from pre 2010, sayin it works for necking only.
cheers
