My 30-06 Parker hale is denting the case mouth on ejection (I think). Now for me it's not a problem as I don't reload. I was just wondering if there is something wrong with the rifle or if this is not unusual. BTW I think it only does it if I cycle the bolt sharply.

That rifle should have controlled round feeding. That extractor claw really bites and if you eject "sharply" the case can clip the front inside edge of the receiver once the case gets back far enouh to hit the fixed ejector. So simply, yes it's your super human strength and speed of cycling the bolt!

Perfectly normal, old son!

You really should try getting into handloading. You shoot twice as much and spend less money at it, and it's something to do in the wintertime when one of those Nor'Easters comes shrieking in from Greenland and turns the water black with green froth atop.

More accurate, too. You'll be able to engineer a load that will make your PH shoot MUCH better than she will with store-bought rounds.

Have fun!

Thanks guys! I may get into re-loading later on. This rifle is a real tack driver. It will do 2 shots touching at 100yds If I do my part. I had it out last week and it was scary accurate. I was doing 2 shot groups with Remington core-lokt 180 grain.
