A friend asked me a question today that I couldn't answer since I don't use factory loads.
He wanted to know which is the most accurate 150 and 165 gr. factory ammunition one can buy for a 30-06 ?
Since I cannot answer, I put the question to you gentlemen....

Depends on the gun. The 2 I've had shot hornady custom and superformance sst and interlock the best. I want to try some american whitetail to see how it compares to my reloads wit the same bullet.
For factory ammo in any caliber I've shot hornady is the best thought. Winchester is normally the worst from 22lr up to anything else lol.

The accuracy lies in the rifle...your rifle might get 5 " groups and your buddy with an identicle model rifle and the same ammunition might get 1 1/2 inch groups.

Even in reloading you are not guarantied that someones pet load for his rifle will work in yours.

Buy a variety, go to a gun range and test them all and see what works for you.

My Lakefield 64b loves Win Target 22s

Nosler Accubond serie are almost on par with the best reloads, incredible factory ammo, cant go wrong with this one... In 3 of my calibers 308/300 WM/ 30-06, i shoot them for hunting and if the rifle group this ammo will group... JP.

If a friend asked me that question, I would say:

Each rifle is different. Buy three different brands/loads of 165 and /or 180 gr and try them. Look to see which groups the best with 3 shots out of a cold barrel. No point in testing with a warm barrel, because in a hunting situation, the barrel will be cold. Good news is that this time of the year it does not take long for the barrel to cool off.

Choose the ammo that groups the best, and sight in with that. use the other ammo for practicing in the standing and sitting position. For sitting, fire a few shots from the other shoulder. Sometimes you have to do that.

I suggest trying 165 and/or 180 first because that is the better all-purpose load.

Depends on your rifle, as everyone has said. For example, a .30-06 FN49 will likely shoot 150 grain ammo a lot better than 165's as it's rifled for M2 ball (152 gr.) They'll eat any safe .30-06 loads, but they do have preferences. As do all rifles.

You gotta' figure out what he's shooting and do some testing! Which is good, because 'testing' in this case means shooting!

Yur question is unanserable it all depends on what that particular rifle likes. Every firearm has its own preference and no two are the same. Even two boxes of the same brand and gr wt but from different batches will not shoot the same. Thats why i reload. Now having said that for general hunting u will probably not notice the difference
