Now that I have shot off all my Lake City, I am looking for a recipe - 30-06 for a Garand. 150 gr bullet, CCI milspec primer, Lake City cases.
Thx

Whenever I use 150s in my Garand, I choose something like 51 to 52 grains of Varget. Other classic powders for this application include IMR 4895 and IMR 4064.

The Hornady manual has Garand specific loads. However, you will find it likes 165 grain hunting bullets and 168 grain match bullets with IMR4064 better than 150's. IMR4895 will do as well, but IMR4064 gives more consistent accuracy.
Regular large rifle primers will do as well. You don't need "milspec" primers. They're a marketing gimmick anyway. Remember that LC brass is milspec brass and it's a bit thicker than commercial brass. You have to reduce that charge by 10%.
In any case, you will have to work up a load for your rifle. No two rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way.
