So , my brother is looking for a new 3006 , lever action.
What’s to look for and where.
I’m a bolt/semi guy, so no help to him,at all.

Thanks

The Winchester/Miroku 1895 is what I’d what. Classic design absolutely love it. This gun was issued to Russian troops in 7.62x54r during WWI. Was loved by Russian troops and it was way more reliable than the Mosin Nagant. The Miroku is a modern reproduction of the gun.

This is my miroku win 95 carbine in 30/06 .IF your brother wants a classic lever in 30/06 this is the gun to get.Browning brought the 95 back out in the rifle version first in 30/06 and 270 then Winchester brought it back in rifle ,carbine and takedown versions both were made by miroku .The downside to the 95 is it is basically an iron sight rifle though the later miroku versions are drilled and tapped for a receiver sight

Off track but the best walking gun I’ve ever owned was a Savage 99 in .308 it’s like they made it to balance / cradle in your hand just in front of the lever .just saying pick one up and hold it before buying the Browning and I’m a browning fan .

As someone that just purchased this as their first rifle (.300 Savage), I am glad to hear it.
