Hello guys, just picked up a new Vanguard Lazermark .30-06 and would really like some advice on loads for deer. I have mostly 180's, speer, sierra, Hornadys, but not out of the question to pick up some in the 150-165 range. I have very little experience with the .30-06 so would like somewhere to start. I have lots of manuals just nice to see what works for other people. I generally load to the highest velocity that shoots MOA or better. Also a big thumbs up to the Firearms staff at the new Cabelas in Barrie. The guy at the counter brought out 10 different rifles for me to choose the best wood. Very happy with the purchase and service.

imr or h4350 and 56.5-59gr for 165. 55-57gr for 180's. For 150's I mostly use varget or h4895.

all three are in bc all three have been worked on to try and improve all three shoot the same

I have a pre s2 vanguard in 30-06 and it loves the Speer 165 grain Deep Curl (now discontinued) and BTSP bullets with a midload of IMR4350. Consistently under 1.5" groups, 5 shots. Yours may be different, but that's the name of the game.
Mine is out of commission right now due to a cratered bolt face (winchester primer...), but it is a shooter. Also managed to steal a second pre S2 in 223 when they were clearing them out for the new ones. Accurate rifles, you will love it.

Hope this might be of help, most loads where at max from Lyman 49 book, Win Brass, CCI Primers,165gr Nosler Ballistic tips & 165gr Accubonds, 70s vintage Rem 700 BDL 22" barrel I actually tweaked IMR 4350 for best results but I am sure some of others powders would work well.

I see SUPERFORMANCE shot the highest VEL and BEST group - i am going to try some with 150 + 165 gr-ers in my 24 " barreled 06 - what gr load were you using with your 165 's Please ?

A 2.5 inch group is dandy for a hunting rifle. A Vanguard is not a bench rest or target rifle. Neither is the Howa M1500 made in the same plant. One MOA or less for a hunting rifle isn't necessary.
180's are kind of heavy for deer. Not horrible though. A 165 is ideal for any game in North America. Bit less felt recoil. However, since you have a bunch of 180's, use 'em. Pick one brand for load development though. Doesn't matter which. And it doesn't matter which brand you eventually load for hunting either. Just a good idea to have everything as consistent as possible when working up the load.
IMR4064 gives consistent accuracy with a 168 match bullet, out of my 1903A4. Don't have many commercial rifles myself.

These rifles are generally very accurate, so your statement is very unusual.
I have 4 Vanguards at present, including the identical rifle to the OP, and they are all sub-moa.
OP, My pet load with the 180 is 60 grains of Norma MRP. RL22 should give similar results. [if you can find some.]
The 4350/180 combo generally works well.
