30-06 reloading tips for a beginner

And why pray tell would accuracy not matter cause it's a hunting rifle? Ken Waters knew a thing or two about "Pet Loads' hence the book. You will save a lot of components and time following his advice.Your mileage may vary.

Never said accuracy doesn't matter. A person just does not need benchrest accuracy before they can go hunting. Fantastic if it does shoot that great.

Even if you want a benchrest hunting rifle, it is hard to pack the bench walking up the slash.

Whatever your load accomplishes, its something from 2-4x that in the field.

While Ken Waters is a good guide, it also includes powders, primers, and projectiles not manufactured for so long, that i have never heard of them.

I won't keep a BA hunting rifle that won't shoot 3 shots under an inch at 100 yards. My Marlin lever 1895/45-70 with do 1/2" .Didn't bring a bench hunting just some shooting sticks and a folding stool. Many of the Waters loads are Winchester,Hodgon and IMR all still available today.
