30-06 savage rifle whats a good load????

just picked one up today , im looking for a load what powder do you guys use and what bullet works for you .also is there a load for lever evolution powder I have 8 lbs of it ????

You might want to buy or at least read a reloading manual. Each rifle requires a little work on what works best for that gun. 30-06 is pretty easy to load for.

I got books ive found some loads but looking for loads that you guys like that work

Like bssaguy guy said, each rifle is different. The load that works best is the one that your rifle tells you is best. My rifle likes a near max charge of H4350 under a 180 grain Sierra, your mileage may vary.

I have yet to find a .30-06 that doesn't like a 165 grain bullet of some sort and IMR or H4350

If an -06 won't shoot a 165-180gr bullet with a healthy dose of H or Imr 4350 then put it up on the EE... It's not rocket science, pick a bullet you can find that advertises the result that you want in a weight you can handle and start workin up a load... 4350 and 4895 are good places to start with the 30-06

Hodgdon makes the Lever Evolution powder. It is recommended for smaller cases than .30-06. .308's and like capacity cases. You really shouldn't buy any component in bulk without having first worked up a load.
No Lever Evolution data on their site, yet. Just means it hasn't been published. Contact 'em.
The .30-06 loves 165ish grain hunting bullets with IMR4064. A 165 will kill any game you care to hunt, but you must work up the load for your rifle.

I settled on a 180 Partition and a a near max charge of H4831. It's what I load by default simply because I found it to be the most accurate when I was looking for a good load. There are plenty of other loads just good or better out there that I didn't get to or find out about. I found one that worked and stopped there as it could have gone on ad infinitum.

burn rate is similar to h380 which shows highest velocity in 150 grain bullets with the 06 in the Hodgons manual. Accuracy unknown but I'm sure it will work.

Last year i used 180gr hornady SSTs with 57.5 grains of H4350 with descent results, about 1 to 1,5 MOA, this was for my hunting load. Im trying 178gr a-max with IMR 4831 next time at the range

Pretty near any 180 grain and about 58 grains of Ramshot Hunter.

I like the Hornady interlock, the Sierra Prohunter and ( of course) the Nosler partition. And these all shoot , for me.

Mine loves 48.5gr IMR 4320 under 165gr BTSP. Sub MOA and validated to 600 yds.
