Hey folks just purchased a 30-06 and looking for ammo. Seems like yet again we are screwed north of the border as there is a ton of bulk available in the u.s. just looking to see if people had any leads for affordable up here? Best i can find is 1$/rd

Not a cheap hobby unfortunately and the caliber may cost you. Best bet is pick up some quality second hand reloading equipment (another hobby on its own) and you’ll have better luck finding cheap components such as brass, powders or bullets which can bring your cost per round down.

Just keep hunting through the EE my brother.

Does the US have a current embargo on Russian produced ammo? I think Canada still does? Is the Wolf stuff made in Russia? I've heard it's made in several countries including Hungary and Czech also. Just spit-balling.

There likely isn't enough demand for bulk, inaccurate, blasting ammo in .30-06 in Canada. We don't have the M1 Garand numbers like the US does. Even bulk steel-cased .223/5.56 and .308/7.62 is hit and miss for availability in Canada sometimes.

To feed my Garand I reload. Campro 147gr FMJ/BT bullets, free brass from the range (likely have 3k at this point), and whatever medium-burn-rate powder is cheapest and I'm blasting away for $.50 a bang.
