30.06 surplus ?

You might as well say that the real 30-06 surplus is all gone, other than the odd bit at a gun show or what some guy has in his house there isn't really any left in Canada.

I'm sure there was at one time, but that time is long gone.
Just like surplus 577/450 Martini-Henry, it aint coming back.

I have one case lot of the greek,it came in the enblocs.
I have had it for some time, but that was a complete fluke
find.Never seen any since.No I don't want to sell it.LOL

In around 1995 I was standing in Milarm in Edmonton when 20 cases of Lake City M2 ball were wheeled in. The stuff had been sort of possible to find up until a couple of years before that, then there was none. Suddenly poof, there were 20,000 rounds on enblocs.

They sold out within days. I have never seen it again since.

This should make us all cry.....240rds Greek non-corrosive for $69 shipped.

Why can't our government have such a program? Hey, don't the Swiss also have something similar with very low priced ammo for to encourage and support civilian marksmanship practice at their ranges?

"...Why can't our government have such a program?..." Because was no such thing as a Canadian Lend/Lease Act. Any Lee-Enfields sent out were sold or just given to the countries they went to. C1/C1A1's never got sent anywhere. Strictly made for the CF.
The Socialist F**ks destroyed the remaining Lee-Enfields and C1A1's rather than sell you one. One of many examples of fiscal irresponsibility. They did sell C1A1 parts to Gunparts though.
The U.S. Civilain Markmanship Program gets their stuff from the U.S. government, if and when, Lend/Lease firearms are returned. Plus DP blank firing rifles loaned to veteran's groups. The DP rifles usually come back in extremely poor condition due to a near total lack of maintenance after firing corrosive blanks for years.
At one time, every Swiss male over 18 did military service and took their issue rifle home. That's changing.
