30-06 to 300 ultra?

anyone know if my sako mark 5 action(in 30-06) is capable of being retrod into a 300 ultra mag?

Are you sure that it is a Sako Mark 5.

In any case,if it is a Sako 30-06,the action is likely too short,and the boltface too small.

You very likely would also have a great deal of trouble with the magazine to accommodate (and feed) the cartridges.

Another problem with the Sako actions is the extractor. When a standard (30/06 sized) bolt face is opened up to magnum size, the extractor is located too close to the center. While there are ways to work around this, it is never truly right. Regards, Bill
