Does anyone know the part numbers or a Canadian dealer who sells a die set to expand 30/06 brass into 9.3x62 brass? None of my local shops carry them but will order them if I can get the part numbers. I have been unable to find such item numbers
Thanks.
Reason being it was a buddies dad that wants the dies. He has buckets of 30-06 brass he wanted to use.
For the price of the case forming dies lapua brass in 9.3x62 is a great buy lol
I think he just likes to tinker
He can actually make a 30-40 neck expander from a standard grade 7/8"X14 bolt. Turn about 1/4" of the threaded end down to 30 cal, taper the next 3/4" up to 40, and turn the next 1/2" at 40. Polish the machined portions and you're ready to go.
The machined bolt will thread right into your press. Adjust it the same as you would if you had the 30-40 die in the thread I posted.
I am assuming the base diameter and length are the same? They should be able to be run through standard 9.3 sizing dies and then fireformed with the bullet seated loose and out to touch the lands for head spacing. .308" to 9.3 should be doable in one step, as I go from .270" to .358" regularly without issues.
