i normally load 8~grains of trail boss on a 150gr bullet, it works quite well.
am planning on loading my plinking load with Buckshot now, since my flat nose mold is only a 1rounder and casting is long and painful 1bullet at a time. i got a Sharp Shooter mold so the buckshot flow fast.

00buck is .340~inch and 60grain, will the same 8gr trail boss load work?
since its less weight the powder might not burn all the way i suppose.
what about fps?

A 60 grain ball might be travelling pretty fast with that load and cause leading.

I don't have any numbers for trailboss handy. Maybe someone else can chime in. That would be my concern.

I used to do something similar with. 0.600" round balls in my Snider. If it was me, I'd first run it through a 0.309" Lee push-through sizer, then flare the case mouth and seat it with the sized flats just inside the case neck. A little dab of Lee Alox would be applied on the exposed portion.

I'd work in the 3-4 gr region with Trail Boss.

I have used 3.0 gr of Bullseye with a single #4 buck in my .243. I lube the buckshot with Lee Alox, let it dry and press the ball into the slightly flared case neck with my thumb.
Chronographs at 1380 fps and ragged hole groups at 25 yds.
