I used a micrometer on a loaded cartridge of each of the above noted calibres. I had old loaded cartridges, even the 30-30 was an old U M C (Union Metalic Cartridge Co.) The first list of figures will be for the 303 Savage, the next for the 30-30 and the last for the 30 Remington.
303 Sav. 30-30 30 Remington
Rim diameter - .502 .501 rimless
Above rim - .442 .420 30 Rem. is the same as the 30-30
in the rest of the measurements.
Shoulder - .413 .401
Neck - .328 .328
Bullet that protruded from
the case .308 .308
