I am looking for some info on the best place to buy CHEAP 30-30 bullets used strictly for target practice and not hunting. I had an old model 94 winchester given to me and can't believe they are over $20 for 20 shots!! I believe cast would be cheapest but I am having trouble finding a manufacturer who sells bullets for under $20/100. Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks:ar15:

I love "Cheap" 30/30 reloads. For the Marlin I cast my own 150 grainers out of water quenched wheelweights, size with .311" and push them with either 10 grains of unique for plinking around, or 19 grains of H4198 with a gas-check for Silhouette out to 200 yards.
Accuracy is equal to those "Jacketed" bullets. ;)

I cast for the 30-30, but use the old Lyman #311284 rather than light bullets. Using wheel weight metal, bullets come out of the mold at .310" diameter and weigh 210 gr. They are accurate and cheap, and can be used for big game as well.

Just got some jacketed Round nose in the mail today. Gonna try and do some reloads for the weekend and I will let you know how they work!! $100 for 1000 is what I paid.
