About to start reloading for a Winchester 94 carbine. Anyone have good load data? I have not purchased anything yet, so I'm open to suggestion. Id likely prefer round noses. Thinking I might give the Leverevolution powder a try? Any thoughts?

I have a surplus of magnum primers, so if I can use them, great.

My standard jacketed bullet load in my 94 was 32.0 grs of Win 748 with 170 gr Hornady FP's and standard primers. Could be used with same weight RN's. I would start at 30.0 grs with your mag primers and work up a half gr at at a time. 748 is usually easy to find, competitively priced and being a ball powder meters great.

As always with any internet load check at least two reliable sources before using.

The 30-30 is a fun gun to shoot and load for.
Your gun will display it's own peculiarities, but
practically all leverguns work well with IMR 3031,
W 748, Vihtavuori N133 & 135, or Accurate 2230.
I have not yet tried the Leverevolution powder, so cannot comment.

there is a guy on another forum with pressure equipment, and his findings with LVR is equal or slightly higher velocity at lower pressures.

I think if you can recreate factory specs on velocity with lower pressures, that is a win win, and if you can get accuracy there also, that is the best!

the 30-30 really isn't one to hot rod in a lever gun.

now... I have 3 single shots.... and with 110 TTSX, or 125NosBT.... you can really get them stepping out there.

I've also got a 30-30AI reamer coming, and am debating whether to ream my old 94 to help with case life!
