I'm not ready to do reloading yet and my EE want to buy ad isn't working, gun shows haven't had any cheap 30-30 Win either.

Am I overlooking any other options for finding low priced, less than $1 each, 30-30 Win. ammo for plinking with?

You really should get into reloading, even if it's just with a Lee loader. 30-30 is an easy cartridge to start on with lots of options for loads. It's so much cheaper to roll your own.

Just 2 years ago I was paying $11 a box

Yes, "low price" and "ammo" these days certainly seldom is seen in the same sentence. I was in Cabelas and WSS today and there was nothing in the way of inexpensive .30-30 ammo. Hornady Leverevolution ammo was $43 a box! That is nuts for .30-30, I don't care what kind of bullets they are.

Even reloading is getting expensive. Even if you have the brass, you're looking at $40-50/lb. for powder, plus the $25-$45/100 for projectiles, then about $5-6/100 large rifle primers. The last plinking .30-30 ammo I put together with Win. brass, 150gr. PowerPoints and CCI large rifle primers came out at about .80cents/round.

I can still find it for $18 & $19 a box around these parts. Not much of a plinker cartridge though. I'll shoot a box at the range and then move on to the next rifle.

On another note, if there was a cheap source for it, posting the location of it here would lead to some dolt member buying it all up...thus dashing any prospect of you finding some.
