Varmint round?
I bought some .30-30 from Jimbo47 last year and when it arrived I was a bit surprised that it was a mix match of all kinds of old ammo and most of it didn't match the box ol Jimbo took the pictures of.
It was a bit disappointing in the sense that ol Jimbo should have told me what he was selling but it was an eduction in 30-30 ammo ( and also Jimbo's character)as there was some really old cartridges in the mix and all sorts of different bullets including lightweight sabots.
Here's a picture of the boxes Old Dominion and Newer Winchseter was what I thought he sold me but what was inside was an interesting mix indeed!
A couple have hollow points but not as small as yours.

I didn't know that 30-30 EVER came in HP. New Winchester product?

ETA: Winchester's site keeps crapping out on me whenever I select 30-30 ammo type. Weird.

The pic below is from MidwayUSA.com

looks like you bought someones cartridge collection.

I have a few of those 30-30 mystery rounds just like that hollow point round nose in my collection. My dad got them from his friend who died about 20 years ago and hunted in the 70's with that ammo.

Wow! Quite an assortment. I am curious as to exactly what the ad said was in the boxes. I have bought several rifles from Jim and found him to be scrupulously honest, as have 400+ others. In fact, I found his descriptions of his wares to be spot-on, perhaps even a bit conservative.

Read an old report about a US midwestern small department considering using 30-30 carbines for some law enforcement work. They used over the counter commerical hunting loads for ballistic gel tests. As senior management was worried about overpenetration danger.
The only two hunting loads considered "safe" was the federal load with the 125 grain wide hollow pointed sierra & the winchester 150 grain hollow point. It was said the sierra flattened out to about .60 calibre & the winchester HP came apart into itsy bitsy pieces.

"The Winchester HP came apart in itsy bitsy pieces"
The " grey box" 150gr hollowpoint just came apart on a brosdside shot at an
impala I shot several years ago.Good thing they are less than a foot wide through the ribs.
I believe that Winchester now makes a bonded HP in 30-30,that should help.

I know I can't believe the feedback either!
I made the mistake of doing another deal with him latter that sealed my opinion of him.
I'll send you a PM so as not to further muddy the water with Jimbo stories.

The mystery 30-30 thread just brought back some memories of ol Jimbo.....

I used a hollow point 30-30 when we were pushing bush in Manitoba one year. I shot a doe real close, like, 20 yards close no exit hole bullet completely exploded. Don't ask what I was think when I tried them, because I don't know.
