I have a 1889?? sporter chambered for 30-30, and thought I'd load up a few light rounds. Made up a fake round with a resized 30-30 case, bolt wouldn't close all the way. Hmmm. Dug out some new brass, made up a dud, chambered just fine. Ok, that's what I'll work with. Loaded up 18, and had a couple factory rounds.

The used bass was full length resized - twice, but wouldn't let the bolt close. Ah well, you learn something every day, right?

Case length possibly. I’d bet the case has expanded on your reloads. Possibly a smaller chamber for the Swiss.
If had belted mag cases from another rifle that gave me similar trouble. My chamber was cut to minimum dimensions.
It seemed that the shoulder was a bit forward compared to new brass. Considering that the first attempt was with used brass, heaven only knows what it was fired in. After I fire these few off, I'll do an eyeball check on the shoulder and do some comparisons with other brass.

I bought one of those years ago.
I was warned by an oldtimer at the gun show that you couldn't shoot reloads in it because it wouldn't fit.
I haven't tried reloads but I have found it to be surprisingly accurate with factory.

I know I had trouble with a Winchester 94 and the lever being very hard to close on reloads. Someone somewhere told me to get a set of Lee dies claiming that Lee dies are all small base. So I bought a set and switched to them and I’ve had no trouble since.

The chambers are sleeved ,that has been known to come loose also most rifles are missing their magazine.
