Leave it as is..... what is it? As in which year model etc.

I guess if it's really bad and you are set up to do some nice refinishing work yourself maybe it would make sense but if that was the case you probably wouldn't be asking.

it depends what it is and how rough it is.

1981.
Not really bad, just usual carry wear and marks on the stock. Carried way more than shot.

Interesting, someone listed a well worn early 80's trapper 30-30 earlier today for $850 on the EE, I haven't checked but it's probably gone.... :)

Did those years have the rebounding hammer or a safety?

No safety. What is a rebounding hammer.
Iv’e got 2 of these.
Gonna keep the nicer one.

The rebounding hammers never rest all the way down, after striking the firing pin they bounce back and are held off the firing pin with spring pressure.

What’s your deal??????

The local forum police. Some people take this forum waayyy too seriously, laugh and move on

Leave as it is.it will sell.the funniest thing is the craze for these trapper models,I've had a few over the years, bought three at once years ago.ive never been a fan of these 16 inch barrel models, they are super loud and Ive never seen a trapper model be very accurate .still folks will open their wallets for these things,Id take a 20 inch carbine model any day of the week over a trapper.
