30-30 trouble

HI; I used to use R and R when He was in Hamilton. Too far to ship. I wonder if the crimp was being applied too soon but could not tell for sure. I have a Micro groove Marlin so need fat bullets that's why .310 Trying Alliant 2400 powder, will see!

OMG man.......you have your die set too low,you are applying WAY too much of a rool crimp and buckling the case
I HATE MISSING THREADS LIKE THIS!! Post 11, guy gives bang on advice, then gets slammed for it and it turns out he was right!! This was my answer, just got here too late.

BTW, Spawn, that's how roll crimping works, during bullet seating. Saves a whole step. It's all about reading the directions and following them.

yes yes, egg on my face.

with how little the bullet got into the case i didn't think the roll crimp would start to crimp. i was reacting to the "OMG man" part of the post.

Sorry to oops. I couldn't tell the way it was said. If it was OMG man  I wouldn't have posted.

We have all had a little egg on our face from time to time, the important thing here is that some guys have stepped up to offer some advice.

Hey, we all go there.... I just got some on my face in the hunting forum when BUM graciously corrected me about my reference to the .500 Tyrannosaur... It's a .577 tyrannosaur!! I couldn't even TRY TO CLAIM A TYPO! The 7 is way too far from the 0 on the keyboard. LOL!

Wow I've never seen that...

Anyway, get winchester brass they are so much better than federal.

Maybe a decade ago but the crap coming out in Winchester bags these days is pure garbage. Necks that are split right out of the bag are very common.

Federal is good brass even if it is a little softer than other brands and yield fewer reloads than many others.
