Does anyone know where to get the black tip or any other 30 cal AP projectiles?

Tracers seem to pop up on the EE fairly often but I've never once seen an AP projectile.

Last I checked, AP projectiles for rifles were not on the prohib list.

I was under the impression that all ap ammo was prohib, no? Maybe I've misread the regs/law (how hard is that to do.....) But I swore it all was no? Where is it they differentiate between pistol and rifle? Not being am ass just curious

I seemed to recall it saying only for pistol ammo. Did some google searching and found this on the nfa website, which conforms to what I had recalled.

"The term "prohibited ammunition" is defined ONLY in Order is Council SOR/98-462. It defines "prohibited ammunition" as, "Any cartridge that is capable of being discharged from a commonly-available semi- automatic handgun or revolver and that is manufactured or assembled with a projectile that is designed, manufactured or altered so as to be capable of penetrating body armour, including KTW, THV and 5.7X28 mm P-90 cartridges.""

Not prohibited, but NRCan decided it was evil and won't allow it to be imported. Supposedly due to corrosive primers, but more due to the bosses there being Socialist F**k appointees.
No commercial maker has ever sold AP bullets for reloading.
Most clubs don't allow AP anyway. Too many bozos damaging range equipment.

Interesting, and fair enough. But sure would be interesting to try out on some AR500 out on crown land or a private farm where it's acceptable (and where the target is your own property). See how well it does...
