I've seen several full boxes of .276 floating around.

Most of the loose rounds seem to have cracked necks now.

What might have been is always interesting to imagine. Of course at this same point in time the Japanese and the Italians were both trying to "upgrade" to 7.7mm from their respective 6.5s.

Of course the .276s were built & wrung out by the British as well during this time span. Perhaps if there had been another autoloading action than the Pederson this cartridge could still be in use today?

Of course the intrangigence of the US Ordinance Dept killed the post-war attempts to rectify this situation with the ABC & BBC (America, Britain, Belgium, Canada) .270, .280, .280/30 ect et al. in the early post WW2 era. This resulted in the development & adoption of the EM2, FAL and M-14 eventually chambered in 7.62x51.
