Hey folks, i recently got into reloading with a lock and load progressive press from Hornady.

I found my shell plate and dies related to the .30 carbine round but since i have only reloaded 9mm in the past. I was wondering if anyone had reloaded this round.

And if so, what powder gave the best results?

For the projectiles, what was used and are there other rounds that may be compatible. I am having a hard time finding projectiles specifically for the .30 carbine in canada.

For the shells i have been using spent Remington shells but i want to find in bulk. Is there a good place in canada to find shells for the 30.carbine?

For primers i really wouldn't know what is best. Any suggestions?

Keep in mind i want to do volume shooting and looking for the best bang for the cheapest buck.

Thank you in advance for helping out this newbie re loader.

Make sure the dies you have are carbide or you will have to lube the cases.

W296/H110 are good powders.

110gr RN for bullets.

Any mall rifle primers.

Custom Reloading (Dealers Forum) has the 30 carbine bullets in stock--$110.00/1000
Small rifle primers and 296,-h110 or lil-gun powder is good.

All in stock

Have a good day

I like H110 in mine.
Small rifle primers (your choice) and 110gr FMJ bullets. I tried the Hornadys 100gr SJ and wasn't pleased with the results. Been half tempted to try plated bullets, but there's jacketed aplenty 'round here, so no need.
I found brass was the hardest thing to source.

I made 100 rounds with 1680 powder and plated 100 gr bullets. They work quite well. For plinking at 50 yards, the plated bullets are cheap and adequate. I have not tested them at full pressure and 100 yards.

I put 100's of RCBS 115 gr cast RN GC bullets through an M1 carbine. Powder was either of the 4227's. Accuracy was less than an inch at 50 yds. My young son (who's now 31 and shooting the Queen's ammo in a C-7 and Browning HP) could certainly shoot them up faster then the old man could cast bullets and reload the brass.
