It's a Hornet specific bullet that can't handle the force a 22-250 would apply to the bullet at 4500+ fps. The fast muzzle velocity is attractive, but they shed it quickly
22-250 w/ 36gr Barnes VG @ 4350 fps would retain 3576 fps @ 100y, and 2350 fps @ 300y. Wind deflection per 1mph crosswind at 300y would be 1.3"
with 40gr Vmax @ 4200 fps, 100y = 3630 fps, 300y = 2680 fps / 0.97" wind deflection per mph (25% better than 36gr VG)
55gr Vmax @ 3750 fps, 100y = 3340 fps, 300y = 2625 fps / 0.84" wind deflection per mph (13% better than 40gr Vmax, 35% better than 36gr VG
Light isn't always the best option
