.30 M1 Carbine restricted?

The milling is done on the stock, not the receiver (AFAIK). I think the M2's also had a tab for the 30rd mags (for stabilizing them in FA...again, going by memory). I don't recall if that tab was part of the parts that make up the M2 evil parts or if it was part of the receiver.
 
Yes, there was a cut in the stock for the switch. However, if my memory is correct ( it may not be ) there was some milling done to hold the switch in place & also to hold the spring that kept the switch in position. That may however have been high up on the trigger housing.
 
I stand corrected...I'd forgotten that the M1 and M2 trigger housings were different. I'd thought they were the same except for a couple of "extras" in the M2 for FA. It doesn't help that many M1's have M2 housings (w/o the fun parts)...needless to say, I still think they're a cool bunch of rifles and a hoot to shoot.
