I just finished installing my ARMS18 purchased online from Wolverine Supplies.

Dealing with Wolverine via email I would have to say that they recieve top marks for shipping and efficiency but I'm going to have to say that their email correspondence could use some work. That being said, I will be ordering my rings from them.

Following the provided instructions I found that there was some information that could have been included for better results.

There was no mention of throughly cleaning the guide slots in the side of the receiver. I used a thin stainless wire "toothbrush" to clean the slots with a little bit of varsol, this really smoothed them down without removing any material from the receiver other than some of the coating on the sharp edges.

I also cleaned the mating surfaces the same way on the ARMS18.

I used brake clean to prep all of the surfaces and fasteners to ensure they were free of grease, dirt and build up.

When torquing the locking bolt down, I did not have an inch pounds torque wrench, so I used 8.5 ft. lbs on my Snap-On 3/8"s drive click type. After I torqued it once, I used a soft face dead blow hammer and hit the area surrounding the lock bolt. Re-torquing, the lock bolt took another 1/4 turn. This time I ensured the receiver was secured against a block of wood and repeating seating the ARMS18 with the dead blow, this time with more force, due to having the rifle positioned better. The lock bolt did not take any more torque, so I was satisfied it was not going anywhere. All fasteners were lock tite'ed as per instructions.

Following the rest of the instructions I found the ARMS18 was a real breeze to install. I was disappointed to realize that my Aimpoint CompM4s wouldn't fit on to the ARMS18... oh well it's getting a scope anyways and the Aimpoint can go back onto the CZ.

Range report on rifle reliablity next time I go out. As it sits now, I'm very happy and feel this mount is well worth the ~$250(shipped) new.

Good to hear you like the mount so far. I as well picked up the Arms 18 when I was through Virden. Wolverine seems to be having some email trouble lately. Previously they where excellent to deal with, and in person they are always great. Good tip on the Varsol BTW

How was the alignment?
When I installed mine, the front to back (length-wise) axis of the ARMS appeared to be slightly off the bore axis of the barrel (pointing slightly left).
I had to adjust windage by 8" to get the POI on centre at 50 yards

odd shot did you remove the little c clip on the side mounting bolt?
45ACP recommend doing this and when I mounted mine it lined up straight.
I mounted an arms 18 on mine and fired about 100 rounds with no scope or rings mounted ...just the iron sights with no issues.
But after mounting my arms 22 rings and Bushnell 3200 tac 10x scope I have had the infamous issue of stoppages due to stove pipe rounds .
I bought a bolt disassembly tool and trimmed a coil off both springs and still get the odd round so I will trim another coil off.
The mount and rings have held zero very well .

I just read about that little pearl in the stickies (my memory just isn't what it used to be, so I find myself reading the stickies over and over again). Thanks.

I found PPU stove-piping quite frequently, but don't seem to have any stoppage issues with Norinco 7.62. Go figure. I wonder why?

If you do, swap the bolt springs with USGI. Your ejection pattern will change from front to sideways/rear.

ARMS18 lovers:

Have a look at the front contact pad's Cap head set screw, yeah, it's up front.... Does it conflict with yer handguard? Don't dremel your handguard at all.

PM me with your address and I will send you the correct set screw that remains discreet and out of sight; now you don't have to cut down your handguard and result with a 'bubba' style handguard.

Odd Shot got his allen head set screw HANDED to him at the Oshawa M14 clinic and now his cool factor just rose like mad!!!

Oh yah, this free offer is also in the sticky (ies) under the FAQ section.

One of these days, I gotta take/get a picture with the ARMS18 mount. I need a pic with and without that supplied cap head/socket allen screw, so that people can see how my little set screw fix will work and prevent #### loss! :D

Cheers and regards,
Barney

Hungry, for those of us with our own suppliers, could you just provide the sizing of the set screw? Unless it's some weird size, I probably have one in the pin.

Hungry
Here is another pic of my mount when I had different scope and rings mounted .
This shows off the high speed /low drag screw that you sent me .. Thanks again :)
