30 plus sks flew away in 48 hrs

are you forgetting, the firearms experts they consult with could be the rcmp? consulting with wendy is political.

She's the one that's been driving the anti's agenda since the early 90's, and most RCMP officers don't give a rat's ass about guns and are far from what I'd consider experts.

We have some good ones on this site, but I know very few LEO's in Canada that have a favourable view of firearms and civilian ownership of them.

A real gun enthusiast wouldn't want to condemn all of those firearms to oblivion either.

Their type of in-house "expert" is probably some know-it-all douchebag like A.J. Somerset. All he cares about is sporting shotguns for shooting clays.

i thought we are talking about experts but all i hear are non-experts, im talking about rcmp from the lab, they handle guns all day long. those who can come up with a list of 1000 models of AR to ban.

Wow way to be a supporter eh ? People are standing to loose thousands in firearms and accessories. Maybe its not the time for this kind of jokes ye

Don’t worry, your precious SKS is on the radar...

Is the SKS better because «#it has cleaning rod under barrel#» too ?
:) of course I am not happy about anything being banned, and yes, I still like SKS coz of the rod.... damn I was thinking of buying some of these babies: https://www.fnherstal.com/sites/default/files/2018-07/FN-SCAR-L-STD-FDE-5-1280x800.jpg
but now what.... I feel very angry and disappointedthat I cannot have SCAR

I keep trying to tell you, there are likely no real experts in the RCMP lab.

I had friends that owned a gun store, with a huge inventory, and they handled firearms all day.

I still wouldn't consider them experts on firearms. Their gunsmith was though, and he was interesting to talk to.

Unless someone is a talented gunsmith/gunmaker, or a military armourer/weapons technician with a lot of shooting experience, I don't consider them an expert.

John Moses Browning was an expert, so was Gale McMillan.

Just because someone's working in the RCMP lab doesn't mean that they can walk on water.

Those jobs are posted and then usually filled internally. Possibly meaning that the most senior member that applies, that meets the minimum qualifications, gets the job.

The RCMP brass are notorious for hating firearms. Do you honestly think that they'd hire a bonafide gun-nut, and take their advice on anything?

FFS, it takes years to get a firearm approved for sale in Canada that's been sent in for inspection.

It's not like they're flooded with new firearms every day and are struggling to keep up with demand.

It's more like they're either incompetent, or intentionally stalling, in order to delay the approval.

If there are any "experts" working there, they should hang their heads in shame for selling us all out.

May be those "experts" from the RCMP lab are able to come up with a list of 1000 models of AR to ban but it seems to me that they do not have any idea what they are banning. In their idiocy they banned .22LR RIMFIRE rifles like (z.158) Chiappa Firearms M Four-22, (z.159) Chiappa Firearms M Four-22 Pistol, (z.779) Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 and (z.781) Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22PC which, mechanically, have absolutely nothing to do with an AR-15 type rifle. On top of it, they banned a SHOTGUN (z.886) Utas XTR-12 that, from a distance, looks like an AR-15 but obviously mechanically it is not. They made a mess with that categorization of firearms with a bore of 20 mm or more to the extent that some shotguns with a choke can be prohibited. And you call them "experts"?

really? you are bringing a friend that is a sale clerk at a gun store into this convo? even him would know about the SKS so surely the rcmp who work in the lab whos job is to test, take part, has access to data and files all day long would know more about the sks so what is the big deal about talking about it?

so tell me, all these sks that are on ee that advertised them as non-prohib should they also take them down, i thought we live in a non- commie country.

im not going there, im saying the expert obviously knows about the sks and might even be on the next ban so why not talk about it? why let sks owners get blind sided? im sks owner, i would wanna know and i wanna fight it. not talking does nothing for our cause.

For a moment they will be ok to digest their prey. As soon as the next lunatic will start a new shooting (he will come for sure) ,sks will follow. We have to prevent that getting Liberal out of power, in this way avoiding political harrasment on us at list 4 new years.

I agree. I would add for more clarification that the Libs are not keen on bannig the SKS's beacuse they've been used by thousands of indigeneous hunters for sustenance hunting. Furthermore, the CCFR and NFA are taking the Government to court which, at least for quite a while, should stop that "gun ban diarrhea". Obviously, we must stay alert all the time and really, not talk too much about why they don't ban this or that.

They won’t wait for another shooting... just wait for them to call all semi-auto banned before the end of this year.

Do you even understand anything that I've been writing? ANYTHING?

You keep trying to convolute everything that I've said.

My friends (plural) owned the business, they weren't clerks there.

They owned over a thousand different firearms in their store, and were knowledgeable about all of them.

The shot competitively and hunted. I still wouldn't consider them firearm experts.

When did I say that anyone should take EE ads down?

I will repeat what I have been saying all along.

STFU about what is for sale and where it can be found.

The OIC has a provision to add more guns to the list if they perceive that there is a substantial shift towards people purchasing them.

That is exactly what I am seeing being reported on in this very subforum. Thread after thread about what rifle to buy, where they can be found, and for how much.

I shake my head at the stupidity that I'm witnessing.

Gents; just like that scene in Breaking Bad when Walter White's brother-in-law is about to take a bullet in his head... their minds are already made up! The full "list" has long been assembled and probably ALL encompassing. When the time is right, ban "B" will be initiated. Nothing we say or don't say will matter one iota of difference, so save your breath and channel your frustrations and energy on supporting leaders and organizations who will stand up for our civil liberties. Will the SKS get banned? Likely. When? Who knows. As for indigenous hunters, they will just be given an exemption.

I don't believe that the full "list" has long been assembled. Possibly they were in the first preparatory stages of the ban project or may be not. It is quite apparent from a huge number of completely incompetent mistakes and a great mess they made in the list that it was assembled "ad hoc", perhaps, a day or two before the ban on May 1/2020. It seems that that were unprepared and simply used the opportunity of the Nova Scotia tragedy to act as soon as possible.
