Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for a source (retailer or otherwise) of 30 Remingtion ammo. I can find a few places in the States, but nothing in Canada. I know it's an oddball (and discontinued) caliber, but I have a rifle that takes only it. Any help or direction would be appreciated!

Hello Everyone,

I have a 30 Rem rifle as well and as you point out finding shootable quantities of ammunition can be a problem here in Canada.
I handload for mine so I'm not as restricted as someone who does not and is looking strictly for factory loaded rounds.
Over the years I have been able to pick up a fair bit of ammunition and brass from attending various gunshows, this is probably your best bet for sourcing ammunition for your rifle.
You can also post a want to buy ad in the Equipment Exchange here on CGN, 30 Rem. does come up every now and then. Also check out any of your local gunshops as well, they may be able to source some for you with their connections.

Reloading the .30 Remington can be very easy and economical. First keep 20 or 30 cases. Then buy a Lee Loader in .30-30 (it loads the .30 Remington also) about 40.00 dollars. Buy a pound of IMR3031 (45.00) and some Large rifle primers (4.00 per 100) finally get 100 170 grain bullets for the .30-30. Use the data with the Lee Loader for .30-30 and you are set. Total cost: about 135.00 for several seasons of hunting fun. Loading with the Lee Loader is lots of fun also.
