Ok.------can any fellow cgn'ers explain to me how an AR-10 Mag on the Parts "EE" , is worth this kind of cash ?????? Whose "nutz" ?

Sounds ok to me, maybe its her/his brother that wants $575 for a used 20" colt barrel. Have you not seen ads here that makes you think the members are smoking crack? BTW, the Armalite she/he is talking about was made in the 50's and less than 10K were ever built.Bayonets for this rifle go for as much as $600 USD (go figure). The rifle is actually the bigger ,smarter , brother of Eugene Stoners original AR15.Have a look in the book "The Black Rifle" for a history lesson. If you have a few mags for this kicking around, post them and see what you can get....they were $100 each 10 years ago. The new "Armalite" will not accept this magazine at all.

This thread is the reason why it is impossible to reply to an EE ad.
It is really simple - if someone doesn't want to pay the price, it won't sell. If someone can buy the item elsewhere for a ower price, they will.
What prices have these rather rare magazines actually sold for in Canada in the last few months?

I saw a mag for a Ljungman @ a well known Canadian dealer for $150 (elswhere @ $50). Would I pay that for an extra mag? No... That's what stripper clips are for. Now, on the other hand, if I had a rifle that was lacking a mag and I couldn't operate without it... maybe.

I agree some of the prices seem crazy but either it's worth it to someone and they'll buy it or it isn't and the seller will either drop the price or end up sitting on it. Is that what you'd call market economics?

Bottom line, if it's too much for ya, don't buy it.

All you have to do is answer a few used car ads and you will see that a lot of people have a warped sense of value for their stuff.

I sort of started a flurry a few years ago when a friend's sister (lovely woman) said she wanted to sell her pretend-SUV for $5000...she wasn't impressed when I told her she would have to go with the car for that much $.

Sense of humour went rapidly south.

AR10 mags are typically $75-$85...Epps has been trying to sell an original AR10 for almost 6 months now at just under a thousand.....and having no luck.

It might be worth that in the US. But if it has been altered and neutered for canadians, it ain't worth nothing to a collector.

The lack of a sale for this gun has probably got more to do with the fact that this type of firearm is both grandfathered and prohibited beyond all recognition rather then someone not wanting to pay that price.

I noticed that another site sold an original AR 10 a while ago, and that asking price was $2000.00.

I suspect that the people that can still buy a converted auto either have an AR 10, or don't want to get one for their collection.
