.300 AAC Blackout Poll

I built an AR15 Pistol 7.5 inch barrel in 300 BLK...a couple hundred rds later...I still get a kick out of it. I will probably buy a Ruger American in 300 BLK sooner or later to take hunting....its a great little round

Bought a 9" MCX PDW in 300blk awhile ago. I generally just go meh these days with most of the stuff on the market, but this little gun is truly awesome.

The ballistic of 300 BLK out of 9" is exactly what this round is built for, and the whole thing is just compact enough to go inside a bigger computer bag.

Yup, Big time, still swimming in the 300AAC BLKOUT cool aid, and in a country that does not allow any moderators too.

Awesome calibre, in either a short barrelled AR, or a mildly tricked out Troy PAR or in a heavy barrelled Remington bolt action. All are great fun to shoot, and the load development is fun too.

If only we had the ability to own moderators..... would be my No. 1 cartridge then.

Candocad.

My first and only AR build (so far, working on plans for another) was a 10.5" 300B.O., almost a year ago now - very happy with it, small and compact...my Tavor has been gathering dust since, it's a keeper.

I have mine almost ready
Are you guys making brass from 223 or buying brass?

I bought a couple hundred new brass to get up and running at first; then converted a bunch of .223 once I was comfortable with some initial loads (light supers). Got lucky with a site sponsor having a fire sale on some factory 300Black ammo last fall and stocked up on a bunch of that too.

Built an 8.5" barrel'd 300BO a few years back (when it was all the rage). It's a great round for the short barrel...just wish I could suppress it. Don't shoot it much now as I don't reload and the rounds can be pricey. Mind you I don't really shoot anywhere near as much as I used to...life getting in the way and all...but I digress...:(

I usually use 150gr / Trail Boss in the Rem 700, and it is indeed cheap to shoot, with hardly any recoil and little noise. Although you could stabilize the light bullets in other calibers. 220gr are more expensive and probably don't expand. You can get specialty bullets in the US that do, but I don't have any. I downgraded my CQ-A 5.56mm barrel to a 8.5" NEA and my Chinese Canadian AR makes perfect sense on the range.
I should try some of those huge cast bullets with 1680.
