Been thinking about it now for a while but don't know anyone who has used one for hunting. I was thinking it may be a neat little project to cobble together over the winter. It would only be used for deer hunting and maybe the odd bear if the shot presented itself. At the ranges that 95% of our deer are shot at our camp, (60 - 125 YDS) 150 being the farthest that I have ever seen. I was wondering your thoughts. I use a custom 7-08 now and it works wonders on them but as a typical gun nut, the wheels are always turning. Just lookin for any input.
Regards.

I know of three deer taken with Blackouts... All with 150 grain loads... I trust that you are not talking about sub-sonic loads? A sub-load will do it, but under very limited range.

300 blackout is almost identical to 7.62x39, and 7.62x39 is proven fine for deer sized game at medium range.

I'd load it with most any big game bullet from 125 grain to 150 grain and stuff it right full of powder and go hunt.
