Great looking backpack PDW.I wondered what a "shortie" would look like in an AICS. Cool beans. The AIAX chassis system would look uber cool as well.

I'm very interested in your results with the 200gr. Lapua subsonic bullet. Please, let us know how your load work-up progresses. The price on those bullets from Hirsch Precision just went up in price to $49/box!
Eventhough, I'm local to Hirsch if I found a cheaper supplier I'd buy them there and pay for the shipping. I'd still be money ahead.Do you still have the rest of your barrel blank? Any plans for it? lol
I also just read up on the 300. Sounds quite interesting. If there is success developing this for the M4 platform this could get pretty popular. Keep us posted on how accurate it is. I'm also curious what kind of ballistics you'd be getting (ie will the subsonic rounds have massive bullet drop after a coupe of hundred yards).
I am hoping it gets nicer for the weekend cause it pissed rain today. The rest of the blank found its way onto a friends rifle. Might as well speed the love. As for the 200's they don't lose a whole lot of energy, but the drop past 100 is pretty drastic. I am also interested to see how the 110 vmax's do but would really like to get some of the new Barnes 110 vor-tx rounds. Either way I will post results.
It's already popular with the M4, especially in the US where you can get suppressors.
+1 the blackout (AAC corp?) designation is just the SAAMI approved name for what was formerly known as the 300 whisper which was developed in the late 60's I think by JDJ (?). (note: this is just off the top of my head, too lazy to wiki it. haha)
The minimal barrel length required to burn powder, and the fact that it can be used in just about .223 rifle (with the appropriate barrel of course) is what makes it attractive.
As for subsonic ballistics - now this is from what I've read (still waiting on my barrel from the wonderful
juanvaldez).... - the ballistics are similar to a .22Suputin, 2bad4u and some of the other members I'm sure, believe that a suppressor is not a required item to enjoy some of the benefits provided by the subsonic rounds.
For me, it was a necessary step to take for me to continue shooting as a hobby. My hearing is so poor at this point that I needed to go with a cartridge that is notably less noisey. Some days, even .223 Rem. is too much for extended shooting sessions. My .308 Win. and larger rifles sit collecting dust.
If supressors were allowed here I'd likely sell off a number of my firearms to fund the purchase of several of them. It would be a God send if you ask me.
I now appreciate rimfire a lot more than I previously did for the same reason. My hearing is worth protecting.
If there is success? The 300 BLK has taken off like a rocket in the US. Its current popularity is overwhelming.
Drop from 100yds to 200 yds with subsonics is more than 40 inches so ballistically it is more like artillery than anything else.
I have also loaded up some of the 210 bergers I have just laying around so we will see how the sling as well. And yes the noise from shooting unsuppressed subs is quite nice. With little foamy ear plugs you can barely tell you pulled the trigger. And you just sent a flying brick down range so whatever is in the way is gonna feel it...haha
Just came back from bullet and powder shopping. Looked at the barnes 110's. Nice looking bullets but it's 40 bucks for 50 bullets. Can't do it...when a box of 110 vmax's are 32 dollars and the 110 hornady fmj's are 28 bucks and come in boxes of 100. So I'll stick with my original plan.
Yes they are. There are guys reporting deer kills with the 110gr. Personally I'd prob go with the 125gr as it fits the system better and will impart a little more energy at the other end.

I've started to play around with the 125gr. Nosler BT's with Lil' Gun powder. 17.8gr. had (5) shots well under 1" @100yds. A little tweaking might yield a very accurate hunting load.
Lil' Gun has a burn rate very close to H110 and achieves the same (or higher) velocity at significantly less pressure. I haven't had enough experience with either powder to make a full determination if they are equal in terms of accuracy potential. From my results so far, H110 has shown me better initial results. Although, that is by no means definitive.
Generally speaking, most of my loads are seldom pushing maximum limits of pressure and I NEVER exceed the powder manufacturers recommended listed maximum charge weight. In fact, there have been situations in the past where I noticed signs of high pressure long before I reached the listed max load. I'm sure many of you have experienced this as well.
Great news to hear on your initial testing! Would you mind telling us what powder you found quiet? With any luck, it would be a great choice for the un-surpressed .300 Blackout shooter as well...
Well went out today and tried some loads. 110 vmax around 20.5 g of h110 tightened up nicely. Gonna play around in that area but 21g is to hot. I also have some 125 noslers that I m gonna try but didn't do any of those loads. 11.5g of aa1680 did god as well with 200 lapuas. Surprisingly I threw 5 rounds with 210 bergers is at 11.5 as well and if I wouldn't have pulled one it would have been a nice group. A little tighter then the lapua subs. Needed to seat them deeper though as the didn't like to feed as smoothly. Overall good day. Loads show they will be below an inch as they sit, but now to play around a bit with the weights and seating depths and see if we can get some 1/2 minute groups. I was close but managed to toss one at the 'right' time.
