.300 blackout

Ok guys I'm new to reloading so keep that in mind

My question is due to provincial hunting laws where I live I am looking for a new rifle to moose hunt with so what I'm wondering is the law says I need a to have nothing under .270 diameter bullet and nothing under 1500 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. So can I load my own .300 blackout ammo that would fit the energy requirement bullet diameter is ok but would it be to over pressure getting it to what it needs to be? as some commercial ammo gets close to the 1500 mark but not close enough. Would any warden bother me probably not but I'm just curious thanks in advance

YES I understand 308, 30-06, 300 win mag or basically ANYTHING else other than .300 blackout would be lightyears ahead but I'm just focused on this one right now
 
IF 1500 lb/ft equals 2033 joules.
then you need a 125gr(8.1grams) projectile flying at 2325 Ft/second (709 meter/second)
My math should be correct.
 
There is no load combination for the 300BLK that will satisfy the legal energy requirement for moose. I just checked to affirm what I recalled from memory. (I sized it up a few years ago just out of curiosity for smaller game animals... marginal for deer, but for a good shot, no problem.)

Muzzle energy from 130gr-230gr bullets is only near 1200ft/lbs at best and muzzle velocity not exceeding 2200fps with lightest acceptable bullet.(130gr) For comparison, this pales in comparison to 30-30WCF ballistics. Interestingly, the 300BLK will exceed performance of the 30-30 when the heavy and more aerodynamic 225gr boattail bullets surpass it's retained energy around 400y.

Stick with a 270win or 30-06.
 
I do an assloads of reloading for F Class but virtually no hunting (other than duck).

At the risk of throwing this thread into different tangent, I wonder if a Conservation Office wanted to see what you where using for ammo... would they satisfied enough if they saw that your cartridge appeared to be a 30 cal variety and just leave it at that ?

Or would they actually want to test your loads under a chrony to make sure that you hit X,### feet per second in order achieve the desired energy ? Would a conservation officer actually take it that far ?
 
The Barnes vort-x 110gr is 1407ft-lbs. You man be able to squeeze another 100ft-lbs but I feel like it would be tough. The TTSX might be a bullet to consider though.

I figure they wouldn't bother couple time I was stopped they didn't even ask just wanted to see my license
