300 blk. With 155 amax

Hey everyone. I have an AR with a 10" 8 twist barrel. I've got about 700 155 amax projectiles sitting on the shelf that are of no use to anything else I'm loading so I figure I could load up a bunch of 300blk to last awhile. I'm just wondering if anyone has played with this bullet in their blk AR. what were your experiences? Powder suggestions? Seating depth? Etc etc. Thanks fellow nutz.

Seating depth will be determined by mag length or throat depth.

The bullet will take up some boiler room space, so a ball powder like H335 might be a good choice.

I found a load on the net:

15 gr 4227

30 gr 1680

I run 155gr A-max over Lil'Gun and A1680, both powders will cycle the action well and both produce sub moa in two of my 300BLK rifles.
My 1680 load is 20.2 grains, I'll have to check my log book for the Lil'Gun charge (at work now).

Using 17.5gr H110 with 155gr SPFB, 1950fps avg. It’s a warm load in my 16" bolt rifle, work up accordingly.

15 gr 4227

30 gr 1680

20.3 of 1680 is Max in Sierra manual.
I wouldn’t use this much....
17.7 is max for 4227

Let us know how you make out, I haven’t tried any 155s in mine
