300 H&H loads

Gent,
I will be acquiring a 30 Super soon. What are the good loads for this cartridge? I have lots of RL22 and 180 NABs currently.

I'm using 70gr/RE#22/Win brass/180gr Partition /Fed mag primer and .292" 3 shot group @ 100 yards off the bench.Seated at 3.60" OAL and a pre 64 model 70 with 26" pipe. Haven't chronied this one.........Harold

Great news thats the gun I will be acquiring! That should be traveling fairly quick I would think. How much room is in the mag with that oal?

It fits fine, not sure of the precise gap measurement,but room in the mag to feed as it should....check yours with a dummy round first though......Harold

I have been lazy with my Ruger No1 and haven't experimented much as the all of the first loads I tried are good!

I have only used H4350. I loaded 180gr Hornady SP's and 180gr TSX's over 64gr and 150gr TTSX over 67gr. Fed 215 primers. These are quite sedate loads but velocity is good enough for me - 180gr SP's at 2900fps, 180gr TSX at 2930 fps, 150gr TTSX at 3050fps. Plenty of punch for my needs. All groups hover around 1". I have some RE22 and N560 that I want to try still but as far as hunting loads go I am satisfied.

Either of the 4831's or 4350's are fine as well as RE#19 and 3100....didn't play much either when it shot that nice with RE#22...Harold

My friend has had excellent success with RL25 and 200gr AB and 210gr LRAB.
