I want to order, a 300H&H, bolt action, in quality wood and blued, fitted with express sights, 23-26", barrel band for sling, and quick detach mounts, for a moderate power scope, looking at another Leica, or swarvo, 2-10-42, all up weight rifle to be about 7.-8lbs.

You might make that weight with a M700 Edge with a FXII 4x fixed.

If you got a weatherby ultralight in 300 wby and had. It Rebarreled it would be close. No wood stock though..

Sound advice if a man has the cash The other problem, though, is the waiting list. I've had a .300 H&H build in Ralf's queue now for 2 years, with expected completion in another 12 months. Can't fault the man for having that much demand for his work -- but you have to go into it knowing you're looking at a 3-year wait. Mind you, being down to the last year of waiting now, every day is like the countdown to Christmas

Wouldn't the 375 bbl contour be a bit heavy to fit a 300mag in this stock?

I would be patient, and watch the GunsInternational website under the used custom rifles section. There are some masterpieces that show up there at a small fraction of their replacement cost, and in your price range. Biesens, Fishers, Millirons, Burgess, you name it.
