300 HAM'R ammo

With the recent proliferation of bolt action modern sporting rifle receivers, I'm thinking of building a rifle around the Wilson combat 300 HAM'R cartridge. I know probably not
too popular now in Canada due to not being able to hunt with ar15's like you can in the USA. Wondering if there is a source for this on Canada. I would probably reload eventually, but would like to get started with factory ammo to see if I like it.

Reviving this old thread, I have thought about rebarrelling a Savage 340 I have in 300 Ham’r. I have a .308” barrel blank that was originally profiled for a AR platform but is not threaded or drilled for the gas port. The 340 uses the same barrel nut attachment as the Savage 110 but with a smaller barrel shank and different barrel nut. There was a thread on here about someone that rebarreled a 340 but he had to make his own barrel nut wrench. The bolt face would be the same but the mag would have to be replaced and it might be limited to lighter bullets because of the mag length, a shame as the barrel has a quicker twist for the Blackout round. If people are hunting deer with the 300 Blackout then the Ham’r should be just fine and it just happens that I have a set of 300 Ham’r dies that came home with me after a gun show. Maybe I should just do it in 300 Blackout then the mags may work better. I think I changed my mind as I typed this!!! I guess I could use the Blackout brass that I find at my local range after the cops practice days.

300 ham'r is a cool cartridge. I make it out of 223 brass although I think I saw Rusty Wood advertising brass. Its a pity the cartridge never gained traction here, as it makes more sense than the 300 blackout.
