300 Norma Mag Rifles

Typically a custom or semi-custom caliber.

2 guns at Prophet River…a new Snowy Mountain Rifle and a consignment Insite Arms custom, Defiance Deviant.

Quick search of A.I yields…

Here are some examples of rifle manufacturers that make a .300 Norma Magnum rifle:

It's a pretty niche cartridge, probably why not many factory options.
That extra 50-100fps over some of the other big 300 Mags isn't really breaking new ground.
338 Lap is an amazing cartridge, pricey to play with, but it performs for that $$.
Necking it down to 308 just makes it all cost the same and perform less.
Your money, but it wouldn't be a rabbit hole I chase lol

Usually a good number of norma on the EE. Cadex is nice if you like their chassis. But if you prefer a regular stock need to get a "custom" one done up. And for price... The custom one are the same price as a cadex. Just wait time if looking for brand new.

The ATRS in Calgary had 1 in the maverick action, carbon barrel . Nice composite stock a while
back, proably sold by now
I believe they have that reamer in the inventory.. might be some more in production. 300NM is a splendid caliber

Pretty much all of the smiths out west have the 300norma or 300norma improved reamer. They have been around for awhile now. Lots of normas going into long range contests in Canada

I spent some time w a 338 LM and didn't really like it. It is def more expensive to load for. 338 projectiles are considerably more expensive.

Currently I am using a friend's 300 NM and am quite enjoying it. Less recoil and blast than the 338 LM. Considerably wider range of projectiles as well.

FWIW 300NM is not necked down 338 LM. The Norma case is considerably shorter than the Lapua case and it burns quite a lot less powder. My 338 LM loads were consuming 103gr of powder while the ELR loads I built for 300 NM are burning 78gr of powder.

PGW can do 300NM - great round favoured by some SF units.

PGW still in business?
I was in contact with them for some parts such as magazines a few months ago. They said they needed a few weeks. Then I have contacted a few times after with zero reply. They might be done....

300NM (depending on loading or which factory ammo you choose) generally outperforms 338LM inside 2000 yds. It shoots flatter and drifts less. It's also cheaper to load for and has less recoil. There's a good reason most SF units have gone towards 300NM vs 338LM.

For factory rifles, outside of Cadex and Barrett, you've also got AI & Seekins, maybe a couple more that I'm missing. Most custom rifle builders will do you one up as well, I have one built by Insite Arms on a Stiller Tac 338 action and it's a laser beam. Has never shot a group larger than 1/2moa and pushes Berger 220 LRHTs at 3180fps (29.5" Krieger barrel) using N570. It's also a pussy cat to shoot at about 20lbs with scope and bipod and with a 5-port Heathen on it. I can watch my own trace with it when conditions are right...
